Jackie and Jack English
The instrument
The Jackie and Jack are 30 key English type concertinas, designed and developed by the Concertina Connection Inc.
Both instruments are identical in appearance, but have a different range. The Jackie is a treble concertina and has the same range as a violin. The Jack is the baritone version, sounding one octave lower than the Jackie.
Because the Jackie and Jack are fully chromatic, they are suitable for all kinds of music, ranging from classical, folk and dance music, to pop songs and jazz... They also blend perfectly with other instruments.
The keyboard layout of all English concertinas is the same; notes alternate between the left and right hand.
Each button on an English concertina plays the same note on both pull and push. Because of their small size, they are very portable.
Although the Jackie and Jack have been developed especially for beginning players on the English concertina, they are perfectly capable of meeting the requirements of intermediate players.

The Jackie and Jack come with an easy to understand 50 page tutor book, especially written for this instrument with songs and melodies from around the world. It will teach the basics of playing concertina, music notation, rhythm, and music theory. The tutor is suitable for both self study and for use in formal lessons, e.g. music schools or private instruction.
